Array name |
Bacillus-PhyloChip |
Array Description |
Low-density oligonucleotide microarray (microchip) for identifying strains of five closely related bacilli (Bacillus anthracis, Bacillus cereus, Bacillus mycoides, Bacillus medusa and Bacillus subtilis). The microarray contains a hierarchical set of 30 oligonucleotide probes targeting the 16S ribosomal RNA of these bacilli at multiple levels of specificity (approximate taxonomic ranks of domain, kingdom, order, genus and species). |
Array technique |
Low-density DNA microchip array, consisting of oligonucleotide probes embedded in glass-immobilized polyacrylamide gel elements measuring 100x100x20µm and spaced 200µm apart on a glass slide, produced by a photopolymerization procedure. |
